"We were 100% happy with our accommodations. The place was great and even the kids enjoyed each meal and the large sleeping area."
"Everyone was great, helpful and showed a genuine interest in our family situation, as well as went the extra mile with the children organizing activities that interested all."
"Mike was particularly helpful and supportive. I met Mike on multiple nights and he answered all my questions and treated me and my family with respect and showed a true interest in how things were shaping up for us. He asked if there was anything he coud do to further help us."
"Our stay here [at Ss. John and Paul] so far has been flawless communication and understanding felt by all. I would truly like to repay this favor in some way in the future because it sure has been a life-saving situation we entered into and all hosts should be commended."
"In some ways they [the volunteers] have thankless jobs so any thanks I can give them I do. I'm not sure they know the actual good they are doing."
Family Promise brings shelter, meals, and support services to families without homes. Saints John and Paul Parish is part of a larger church and community network that hosts families by providing food, lodging and volunteers at our Faith Development Center.
SSJP'S IMPACT ON FAMILY PROMISE |
The week of July 28-August 4 Ss. John and Paul hosted guests for the last time for the foreseeable future. We will take a hiatus as construction for the new parish hall is scheduled, and access to areas of our campus will be limited. After construction is completed, we will end our partnership with Family Promise if new coordinators are not found, as Mike and Cathy Dahl will step down from this position after 10 years of dedicated service. Many thanks to Mike and Cathy Dahl, and the rest of the steering committee who gave tremendous amounts of time to make these weeks happen.
